Golf by the Beach
When you think of Nicaragua, you do not think of golf. However, with tourism increasing yearly, golfing is getting popular for tourists and locals alike.
Hacienda Iguana Golf & Beach Club is a residential beachfront community in Tola, right next to the new Costa Esmeralda Airport. Onsite, there is a 9-hole golf course, and probably one of the least expensive in the country, ranging anywhere from $17 – $35 per person, depending on the time of the year.
The course was designed by golf pro, Niel Oldenberg, and opened in 2004. Onsite, there is a clubhouse where you can rent clubs, carts, etc. There is also a driving range by the community clubhouse on the 5th hole and a pitch and putt practice hole by the condominiums. After golfing, we recommend to check out the beach club where you can eat and drink.
